Supercharged boiler construction
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce pressure loss of burning gas by making a contact heat exchanger tube in a specific design. CONSTITUTION: Contact heat exchanger tubes 2, 6 wound in a conical shape in a combustion chamber 1 are in slidable and concentric connection, between which a space 7 is formed. Fuel blasted from a burner 3 is burnt in a combustion chamber 1 to produce flame 12 and burnt gas. When the burnt gas is flown from the bottom of the contact heat exchanger tube 2 out of the combustion chamber 1 through the space 7, ash or soot may be built up on the outside or inside of the contact heat exchanger tubes 2, 6 to make the space 7 narrower. Adjusting a supporting fittings 9 slides the contact heat exchanger tube 2 to enlarge the space 7. The larger area of a burnt gas passage results in lower pressure loss of the burnt gas, that increases the output of a gas turbine. COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
