Abstract PURPOSE: Reflected light within a smoke detecting chamber is prevented and S/N is increased by providing a raised part so that the opposing wall surface to which the direct light from a light emitting element falls and the opposing wall surface which can be glanced over from a light receiving element do not oppose to each other.
