Abstract PURPOSE: There is shortened a length of part corresponding to between electrodes of electroconductive support frame through which an electric current for lamp flows in parallel with a luminous lamp to provide a metal halide lamp which cannot be urged onto the inner wall of the luminous lamp opposite to the support frame of an arc lamp in case of large current lamp.
