Exchangeable disk classification discriminating method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily and surely discriminate many kinds of disk by discriminating the classification of a disk in accordance with a pattern of a material stuck to a case of the disk or a shutter. CONSTITUTION:When a disk 1 is set, a shutter 2 is in the open state. A pattern of a material whose reflection factor is different from that of the shutter is stuck to the lower face of the shutter 2. Optical sensors 10 provided in a disk device output a high potential for a bright part and output a low potential for a dark part in accordance with the reflection factor on the shutter. n optical sensors are arranged correspondingly to the pattern position to discriminate 2<n> kinds of pattern, namely, 2<n> kinds of disk.
