Preparation of decorative material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a decorative material having a grain pattern imparting a three-dimensional design, especially, a feeling near to natural matter by performing the sublimation transfer of a pattern to the dry-to-the-touch uncured or semicured resin layer on a base material and curing the resin by the irradiation with ionizing radiation. CONSTITUTION:A resin receiving the irradiation with ionizing radiation to cure is applied to a base material and heated to form an uncured resin layer 2A allowed to dry to the touch or said resin is irradiated with ionizing radiation to form a semicured resin layer 2B. A transfer sheet 3 wherein a pattern is printed on transfer pasteboard 31 using sublimable ink 32 is superposed on the uncured resin layer 2A or the semicured resin layer 2B and the pattern is sublimed to be transferred to the resin layer and the transfer pasteboard 31 is peeled off. The uncured resin layer 2A or the semicured resin layer 2B is perfectly cured by the irradiation with ionizing radiation to fix the pattern to a cured resin layer 2C. By this method, a decorative material having a three- dimensional design generated by the penetration and diffusion of ink is obtained.
