Bar code reading system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the misreading rate of a multistage bar code by adopting only bar code information scanned through the 1st stage bar code as reading data. CONSTITUTION:When a multistage bar code label 10 is scanned in plural directions, bar code information obtained by scanning right and left blocks sectioned by guard bars and a center bar and bar code information 11 obtained by scanning between the guard bars, i.e. through the right and left blocks are included in obtained bar code information. Out of the information, the information 11 obtained by scanning between the guard bars is extracted and the normality of reading as the reading data of the label 10 is inspected. Since the bar code information obtained by scanning the bar code of respective stages is adopted as the reading data, the misreading rate of the multistage bar code can be suppressed to 1/n that of one stage. Thus, the misreading rate of the multistage bar code can be improved.
