Method for forming optical element
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To simply obtain a glass lens free from sink mark and having highly precise surface shape by setting melt glass on at least either one surface position of a heated flat glass raw material and then forming the glass. CONSTITUTION:A flat glass raw material 11 obtained by side pressure cutting is put on a stepped part 10a of carrying arm 9 and then heated to softening point thereof by an electric furnace and carried to the under side of a chute 7. Glass 12 uniformly melted by a crucible 3 is eluted in this time and cut by a cutting knife 5, and dropped to the surface position of the flat glass raw material 11, and is set. Glass 13 uniformly melted in a crucible 4 is simultaneously cut by a cutting knife 6 and dropped through a chute 8 onto a lower mold 2 and set. Then the flat glass raw material 11 is carried to the space between the upper mold and the lower mold and pressed by raising the lower mold 2. Next the lower mold 2 is lowered and pressing is finished. The formed lens is recovered by the carrying arm 9 and treatment such as polishing is applied onto peripheral part thereof to provide the objective optical element.
