Memory medium
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To increase a memory capacity and to allow the writing and reading out of information without using special cooling media by flatly depositing an oxide conductor, the characteristics of which vary with the quantity of the oxygen contained therein on a substrate or the electrode formed on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:This memory medium is formed of the oxide conductor 3, the characteristics of which vary with the quantity of the oxygen contained therein as the requirement for the constitution thereof. The characteristics of the oxide conductor 3 are changed with a change in the oxygen content by controlling the quantity of the oxygen contained in the oxide conductor 3 by means, such as electrical heating or photoirradiation. The writing and reading out of the information are executed by corresponding to this state change to signals. The oxide conductor 3 is flatly deposited on the substrate 1 or the electrode 2 formed on the substrate 1 to increase the resolving power possessed by the memory medium up to atom order. The memory capacity is greatly increased in this way and the multi-valued recording is executed. The use of the medium at ordinary temp. is thus possible.
