Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a method in which useful dense aluminum nitride fiber of high AlN purity having hardly any residual carbon can readily be obtained. CONSTITUTION:The subject method is a method for producing aluminum nitride fiber as follows. An aluminum polynulcear complex is mixed with a guanidine derivative and the resultant mixture is formed into a fibrous shape and then burned in a nitrogen-containing nonoxidizing atmosphere to afford aluminum nitride fiber of >=94wt.% AlN purity.
