Installation method for connector

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To accomplish the automatic assembly between units by a method wherein a position correcting means of a plug to cover a floating quantity is installed in a region corresponding to the plug in a unit chasis to fix a jack to engage with the plug through approach of the jack and the plug facing each other. CONSTITUTION:A plug 12 is mounted to a unit chassis 11 on one side such that it can float within a plane which intersects at right angle in the direction where the plug 12 is inserted and pulled out, and also in a region corresponding to the plug 12 on a plane facing the plug 12 in the unit chassis 1 on the other side to fix the jack 2 engaging with the plug 12, a position correcting means 18 of the plug 2 to cover a floating quantity through approach of the jack 2 and the plug 12 facing each other is installed. When the unit on the side of the jack 2 is made to approach to the unit on the side of the plug 12, the correcting means 18 firstly makes the floating plug 12 move by a prescribed displacement quantity, and thereafter, the displacement can be absorbed with a guide by means of a taper 12d provided on the casing wall 12c of the plug 12. It is thereby possible to accomplish the automatic assembly between units.
