On-vehicle navigation device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the use frequency of a memory in a fast travel by sampling the vehicle speed detection signal of a moving amount sensor at specific intervals of time and varying the position data sampling intervals corresponding to the traveling speed of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The vehicle speed detection signal of the moving amount sensor 9 is sampled at the specific intervals of time and the sampled vehicle speed signal is multiplied by a coefficient to find a position data sampling distance set value. Then this set value is compared with the travel distance of the vehicle and a coincidence signal is outputted when the travel distance reaches the set value; and calculated position data is sampled with the coincidence signal according to the azimuth detection signal of the azimuth sensor and the travel distance outputted by the sensor 9 at this time. Then the position data sampling intervals are varied corresponding to the travel distance of the vehicle and the using frequency of the memory in the fast travel is reduced.
