Method and device for measuring bone

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To measure a bone regarding an X-ray photographing film having lightness in a wide range by a method wherein it is decided whether a range of a light transmission amount of a part to be measured is within a range of a light transmission amount of a standard material in a region where a light transmission amount of the standard material satisfies a given resolution condition, and an irradiating light amount is regulated. CONSTITUTION:By means of a quantity of light determined according to a distinction of sex and the age of a person on which bone measurement is effected, a light transmission amount regarding the influence of an aluminum step in an X-ray photograph film run to a given position is determined. In a relation between the determined light transmission amount and the thickness of the aluminum step, the region of the aluminum step in which the thickness difference of one step of the aluminum step is 10 digits or more in a value after A/D conversion is determined, and a light transmission amount of a lower limit aluminum step in the region is L1. Through transfer of the X-ray photograph film, a light transmission amount in a region of only a soft tissue and preferably an average value L2 is determined, L1 is compared with L2. When L1 is higher than L2, comparison is effected in a state in which an irradiation light amount from a light generating means is increased, and an irradiation light amount is increased until L1 is decreased to a value lower than or adjusted to a value equal to L2.
