Electrode wire for wire electrical discharge machining

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To secure a high conductivity and high heat transfer property and to increase a work speed ratio in electric discharging by coating the circumference of a conductor layer on whose surface an uneven shape is formed with a costing layer. CONSTITUTION:An uneven surface whose surface roughness is in >=1 mum by the max. height designation regulated by a JIS B0601 is formed on a conductor 1. This conductor 1 surface is then coated by a coating layer 2 composed of either of a zinc or copper/zinc alloy. An electric discharging speed is thus improved and a wire drawing property and high temperature strength having less adhesion onto the body to be worked and yet excellent can be displayed.
