Icon display control system for information processing system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the identification properties of icons by adding the document feature to the icon display of documents and simultaneously adding the information on the colors, sounds, etc., to the icons as required. CONSTITUTION:When an OK button 24 is depressed without designating a partial display button 20 on a display screen 1, a document 2 is totally reduced down to a miniature size. Then the button 20 is depressed on the screen 1 and simultaneously a range enclosed by a square where the points A and B in the document 2 are defined as the upper left and lower right points respectively is displayed as a miniature range. In such a case, a mouse button is clipped at the point A and moved to the point B while depressing the button. Then the mouse button is released at the point B. Then the pull-down menus 21a - 21d showing the tones of color are displayed on the screen 1. When a 'blue' selection button, for example, is depressed, the tone of color is decided for the miniature hue.
