Multi-beam scanning optical device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To adjust intervals of plural light spots on a recording surface and to vary the light spot pitch without varying the light spot diameter by moving deflecting means provided on optical paths of respective beams by a driving means relatively in parallel. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a 1st deflecting means 603 which slants the optical axis Lc of a light beam by a specific angle in a specific direction, a 2nd deflecting means 623 which slants it by the specific angle in a reverse direction, and the driving means which moves those deflecting means in parallel. When the deflecting means are moved relatively in parallel, light beams passed through them move in parallel to the positions before they pass the means and the movement quantity DELTAZ1 is proportional to the movement quantity DELTAX of the deflecting means. For example, when one of two light beams is moved in parallel, the pitch between the two light spots on the recording surface 10 varies. No zoom lens is used, so the convergence angle of the light beam converged on the recording surface 10 does not vary and the size of the light spot diameter does not vary. Consequently, the light spot pitch can be varied without varying the light spot diameter.
