Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable the usable time of a battery to be accurately calculated and alarmed by dividing the present residual electric power of the battery by a power consumption per unit time according to the condition of an operation. CONSTITUTION:A residual battery power alarm is provided with a CPU 2 for performing a residual battery power alarm and an operation control, the residual capacity counter 22 of a battery 3, conversion means 23 for converting it to a usable time, means 24 for dividing the counted residual capacity by the power of the completely charged battery 3 and converting a result to a percentage, and the like. The CPU 2 judges whether the battery 3 is in charge. When in charge, the CPU 2 calculates a charged power corresponding to a charging time and adds the charged power to the present residual power. When not in charge, the CPU 2 calculates a power consumption according to the time of an operation classified by the condition of a waiting operation and subtracts the power consumption from the present residual power. Thus, the accurate residual power in accordance with a variety of conditions can be obtained and the usable time can be displayed.
