Method of forming stereoscopic model by utilizing photocurable composition having thickness self-controlled due to separated phase
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To shape precisely a three-dimensional body in one piece from the continuos phase of a photo-curable liquid composition by photo-curing a specific photo-curable liquid layer by actinic radiation exposure, introducing a new layer of the photo-curable liquid onto the layer and photo-curing the new layer by actinic radiation exposure. CONSTITUTION: (A) A layer of a photo-curable liquid is formed, (B) at least a part of the layer (A) is photo-cured by exposure to actinic radiation, (C) a new layer of the photo-curable liquid id introduced onto the layer (A), and (D) the layer (C) is exposed to actinic radiation to photo-cure at least a part of the layer (C). Here, the photo-curable composition comprises an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, a photo- initiator, and a potential radiation deflective material, and the potential radiation deflective material is present as a solution in the composition and gives a separated layer when the composition is photo-cured by actinic radiation exposure. The separated layer has a first relative index, and the rest of the photo-curable composition has a second reflective index. By making the absolute value of the difference between the first and second reflective indices 0.01 or more, a three-dimensional body in one piece is precisely shaped from the continuos layers of the photo-curable liquid composition.
