Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the laser hazard preventing mechanism which is safe and excellent as to operation by providing a shielding member which is pushed up directly to move almost vertically away from a specific position on a laser optical path and opens an optical path when an outside optical connector is connected and returns by its own weight to the specific position to cut off the laser optical path when the outside optical connector is disconnected. CONSTITUTION:When no optical connection is made, the shielding plate 2 is at its initial position where the plate moves down by gravity and the narrow part 2s of the shielding plate 2 is positioned on the laser optical path from an optical jack 50. When an optical connection is made by adhering an optical plug 53 to the optical jack 50, the optical plug 53 itself pushes the shielding plate 2 up firstly. At this time, the shielding plate 2 is guide smoothly and vertically in a case 2 by a roller 5, so there is no trouble as to the operation. Then the optical plug 53 is only adhered to the optical jack 50 along the laser optical path. Consequently, the danger of laser light to an operator is securely or precluded in safety.
