Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To search the station by only a single input processing by searching the station in accordance with the priority order of a discrimination code (PTY), and switching automatically to the processing of the station of the PTY of the next priority even if the station of a desired PTY does not exist. CONSTITUTION:The subject receiver consists of a storage means 9 for storing a discrimination code (PTY code) of every program type contained in RDS data and the priority set in advance to its PTY code, and a search means 10 for setting a frequency being in the course of receiving at present to an FM tuner circuit 1 and discriminating the PTY code from the RDS data, and searching the station in accordance with the priority of the PTY code stored in the storage means 9. Accordingly, in accordance with the priority of the PTY code, the station is searched, and even if the station of a desired PTY code does not exist, it is switched automatically to the processing of the station of the PTY code of the next rank. In such a way, when a user selects a desired PTY code, the station which is transmitting the same PTY code it PTY code is searching, and a desired program can be listened to.
