Door opening and closing construction for vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure the easy opening and closing of a back door and simplify the loading or unloading of a cargo by fitting the front ends of a pair of door arms in such a way as to be capable of free turning via a door hinge provided within a groove at both sides of the rear part of a body roof, and reducing a distance from a back opening to a door. CONSTITUTION:Channel-shaped grooves 5 and 6 extending forward from a body rear part are respectively provided at both sides of the rear part of a body roof 4, and door hinges 9 and 10 are provided forward in the grooves 5 and 6. Also, a back door 3 is so constituted as to be hinged open down and when opened, door arm parts 7 and 8 are supported with balancers 11 and 12 as stranded on the body roof 4. In this door opening and closing construction, the door arms 7 and 8 strand on the body roof 4, when the back door 3 is opened. A distance L, therefore, is shortened and height H also increases. Also, the door hinges 9 and 10, and balancers 11 and 12 housed within the grooves 5 and 6 are concealed with the door arms 7 and 8, when the back door 3 is closed. As a result, the aforesaid hinges 9 and 10, and balancers 11 and 12 can never be seen from the outside.
