Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To enhance sharpness by using a silver halide emulsion layer containing a combination of a specified DIR compound and a cyan dye forming coupler. CONSTITUTION: This silver halide emulsion layer containing a the DIR compound represented by formula I and the cyan dye image-forming coupler represented by formula II is formed on a support. In formulae I and II, CAR is a carrier component; TIME is a timing group; INH is a development inhibiting component; (m) is 0-2; Y is an H atom or a sulfonyl group; Q is a -O- or -NH- group; R<1> is a 1-about 20 C alkyl or cyclo-alkyl group having 3-about 8 C in the ring; R<2> is the same as R<1> or an H atom; R<3> is a 1-about 24 C alkyl or cycloalkyl having 3-about 8 C in the ring or the like; and Z is a group releasable by coupling.
