Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily obtain a flexible magnetic material by a method wherein an alloy of a composition made of Al (2 to 7%), Si (3 to 8%), Ni (less than 6%), and the remaining part of Fe and an unabvoidable impurity is ground to flat powder and this is mixed with an organic binder and spread on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A compound material to be used is composed of, in weight, Ni less than 6%, Si 3 to 8%, Al 2 to 7%, and the remaining part of Fe and an unavoidable impurity. An alloy of this composition is made into ingot in vacuum dissolution or electroslag dissolution. When this is ground with a stamp mill, good flat powder can be obtained. If such flat powder is mixed with an organic binder and a mixture is spread thereon and made in a sheet form with paper or a flexible material like a plastic film as a substrate, they are oriented so as for the plate surface direction of particles and the sheet direction to be parallel because powder particles are flat. As a result, the sheet surface direction is an easy magnetization direction, and they become a magnetic shield material having excellent shield characteristics.
