Cultured product of beauveria tenella for control of long-horned beetle and production of the same product
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a cultured product having high conidium density, produced by culturing Beauveria tenella in a medium composed mainly of a mixture obtained by adding an inorganic substance to an organic substance such as wheat bran and useful for the control of long-horned beetles by scattering on a field. CONSTITUTION:Beauveria tenella is cultured at 25-27 deg.C for about 10 days in a medium composed mainly of a mixture of (A) an organic substance selected from wheat bran, wheat flour, rice sugar, starch saccharide and organic industrial waste and (B) an inorganic substance selected from and, zeolite, shale and sintered mineral. The addition of the inorganic substance to the medium is effective in shortening the culture period, preventing the proliferation of sundry germ during culture and during the storage after culture and giving a cultured product containing large amount of conidia having high germinating power even after a long-term storage of the cultured product.
