Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve waterproof effect on the inlet side of a conductor by a method wherein respective conductors for the electric terminal array are pinched between a plurality of packings under interposed pressure by a plurality of supports. CONSTITUTION:A terminal 20 connected to the tip of a conductor 21 is inserted from the side of a rear face 13 into a terminal receptor 14, while a lance 15 prevents the terminal 20 from moving oppositely from the insertion direction. A connector main body 2 is equipped with an elastic packing 25 on the side of the rear face 13 wherein the packing 25 is divided into an intermediate packing 25a and an outer packing 25b made of silicon rubber or the like. The intermediate packing 25a is in the form of U-shape in the cross section while it is provided with arc recessed lines 19 on both surfaces and mounted to cover a support 17. The outer packing 25b is equipped with a recessed line 24 along the side periphery and mounted on recessed faces 23 of covers 4a, 4b. The covers 4a, 4b are mounted on the connector main body 2 while an engaging protruding line 18 is engaged with an engaging recessed line 22 and hooks 10a, 10b are engaged with pawls 10b, 11b respectively and the intermediate packing 25a press- fits the outer packing 25b elastically so that the conductor 21 is interposed between the arc recessed lines 19.
