Heat-resistant silicone gel composition
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prepare a heat-resistant silicone gel compsn. with little elasticity change under a long-term heat hysteresis by producing an organopolysiloxane by the equilibration with a specific alkali metal hydroxide or its silanolate. CONSTITUTION:An organopolysiloxane of the formula produced by the equilibration with an alkali metal hydroxide having, on an average, 0.1-2.0 aliph. unsatd. 2-8C groups in the molecule or with its silanolate. In the formula, R<1> is an aliph. unsatd. 2-8C group such as vinyl, allyl, propenyl, or butenyl; R<2> is an optionally substd. monovalent hydrocarbon group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl such as methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl, or an aryl such as phenyl or tolyl, or 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl; and 0.0001<a<0.05, 1.8<b<2.2, and 1.8<a+b<2.205. The pref. aliph. unsatd. group is vinyl group because of its obtainability and reactivity with =Si-H group.
