Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To save the power consumption by deciding a level of a connection request signal, returning the result and allowing plural mobile stations to control transmission power in response to a level data when a base station receives a connection request signal from one of the plural stations. CONSTITUTION:A mobile station 20 sends a connection request signal S1 at a minimum transmission level from a transmission section 23 and increases sequentially the transmission level up to a maximum level till a reply comes from a base station 10. When the base station 10 detects a connection request signal S1 addressed to its own station at its reception section, the reception section decides (15) a reception level at that point of time by a level deciding control section 15, and returns a connection reply signal S2 from a transmission section 13 via a control section 14 corresponding to the reception level. The mobile station 20 controls the power to a transmission power corresponding to the reception level included in the connection reply signal S2 by a control section 24 and the communication is started via the transmission section 23 and a power control circuit 25. When the transmission power of the mobile station 20 is a maximum, an annunciator 26 displays the power. Thus, the mobile station 20 is prevented from being stepped out of the service area of the base station and the transmission power consumption is saved.
