Streak tube
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To deflect a photoelectron beam certainly even in case the deflecting voltage varies at a high speed and obtain a streak image on the effective area of a fluorescent screen by performing the deflection of photoelectron beam using an electric field propagating in the beam running direction at approx. the same speed as running of the photoelectron beam. CONSTITUTION:In a steak tube of electromagnetic focusing type according to the present invention, a deflecting electrode is located between a photoelectric surface 14 and a convergence coil 30, wherein the deflecting coil 40 is of multi- division type (10-divided) in couples up and down. From these couples of electrodes plates 40A, leads are drawn out from the streak tube, and a lump- shaped voltage is impressed on each of them. Deflecting voltages in opposite polarity waveforms are impressed on each couple of mating electrode plates. The phases of lump-shaped deflecting voltage are delayed from the photoelectric surface side toward the fluorescent surface side. This decreases the amount of change in the deflecting voltage in each electrode plate, and a steak image can be yielded on the effective area of the fluorescent surface 26.
