Aqueous drug preparation for oral administration
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide the subject preparation produced by compounding a water- soluble polyhydric alcohol and a specific organic acid, containing Ca and Mg ions in high concentrations, having masked bitter taste of metallic ion, free from precipitation, etc., and capable of being safely and easily administered. CONSTITUTION:The objective preparation can be prepared by compounding (A) 1-50%(W/V), preferably 10-30%(W/V) of a <=12C water-soluble polyhydric alcohol (e.g. sorbitol, fructose or glycerol), (B) 0.5-10%(W/V), preferably 1-5%(W/V) of an organic acid selected from lactic acid, gluconic acid and ascorbic acid (especially preferably lactic acid), (C) >=0.4%(W/V), preferably 0.45-1.45%(W/V) (in terms of Ca ion) of an organic acid salt of Ca and (D) >=0.1%(W/V), preferably 0.1-0.25%(W/V) (in terms of Mg ion) of an Mg ion source. The precipitation-preventive effect can be further improved by the addition of 0.05-5%(W/V), preferably 0.1-3%(W/V) of a water-soluble edible polymer compound (e.g. polyethylene glycol or PVA).
