Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent water mark without degrading the characteristics of a coating film consisting of a metal oxide by applying a coating film forming agent consisting of a specific curable org. silicone compd. on the surface of the coating film. CONSTITUTION:The coating film forming agent consisting of the curable org. silicone compd. expressed by general formula (I) (where R, R are a hydrogen atom or the atom or group selected from the same or different monovalent org. groups, a, b are 0 to 1.5 positive number, m>=1, n>=0) is applied on the coating film of the optical element coated with the metal oxide. This org. silicone compd. decreases the polarity on the surface of the coating film which is the cause for the water mark. Since the silanol group generated when the silazane bond is hydrolyzed has high activity, this coating film has high adhesiveness and is improved in durability and wear resistance.
