Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a power source by providing plural electronic image pickup means, and selecting either one of plural fixed focal points and plural electronic image pickup means by a focal distance provided on the means, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A switch 52 is controlled so as to select a CCD 12 when a microswitch 40 is turned off and to select a CCD 22 when it is turned on, respectively via a system controller 51. Thereby, an image pickup system 10 for wide when a (wide) mode is set, or an image pickup system 20 for telescope when a (telescope) mode is set is selected, respectively. Since a zoom function is realized by using a system by switching a mode in such a manner, it is not required to move a lens to vary the focal distance, which can eliminate a motor for zoom. Thereby, reliability and durability can be improved, and also, miniaturization, light weight, and low power consumption can be realized.
