Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of an oscillating state by controlling the revision timing of information to control a flow even when either the case of the number of reception buffers in use in excess of an upper limit threshold level or the case of the number reaching a lower limit threshold level or below takes place. CONSTITUTION:A means sending back reply information including independently information informing a sequence number of a data received correctly at a receiver side RU to a sender side SU and information to control a flow is provided to the method. Then if number of received buffers in use exceeds an upper threshold level limit (n), for example, a flag ful is in use and the data transmission is interleaved while the timing is controlled tentatively (for a time in response to a delay time equivalent nearly to reciprocation of a length of a communication line l) to decrease the data stored in the reception buffer one by one each. Thus, the number of reception buffers in use is kept to a steady-state without causing oscillation and stable transmission control is attained while suppressing the limit to the threshold level or below.
