Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a composition containing the complex of a modified GnRH with an immunostimulating carrier molecule and capable of starting the immunological response of a mammalian to its original GnRH to suppress the fertility potential of the mammalian. CONSTITUTION: This sterilization medicine contains the complex of (A) a GnRH molecule in which one or more of the ten natural amino acids are substituted by one or more of other amino acids having reactive side chains (e.g. the GnRH molecule in which the 1, 6 and 10-amino acids of the GnRH are substituted by cysteine) with (B) an immunostimulating carrier molecule, preferably a high mol.wt. protein having a larger mol.wt. than 15000 dalton (e.g. keyhole limpet hemocyanin, bovine serum albumin, tetanus toxoid). The complex contains two to sixteen GnRH molecules per 1000000 dalton of the carrier. The compound is preferably combined with an adjuvant to prepare a vaccine.
