Deformed reed for air jet loom

Abstract

Abstract <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a weft yarn fly at a high speed in a weft yarn passage of a modified reed. <P>SOLUTION: The modified reed 10 has a guide hole 12 formed in each dent 11 composing the modified reed 10. The guide hole 12 is formed of an upper wall surface 12a, a deep wall surface 12b, a lower wall surface 12c, a circular arclike upper corner part 12d connecting the upper wall surface 12a to the deep wall surface 12b and a circular arclike lower corner part 12e connecting the deep wall surface 12b to the lower wall surface 12c. The radius (r) of curvature of the upper corner part 12d is ≤1 mm and the radius R of the curvature of the lower corner part 12e is larger than the radius (r) of the curvature. The upper walls surface 12a is composed of a horizontal wall surface 12a1 and a tilted wall surface 12a2. The position of the horizontal wall surface 12a1 is lower than that of the tilted wall surface 12a2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
