Improvements in or relating to means for giving an alarm when the flow of liquids and gases through pipes and other conduits fails
Abstract
Abstract 338,602. Dickinson, E. Aug. 23, 1929. Indicating interruption of flow of liquids.- Relates to alarm devices of the kind in which a pivoted vane interposed in the flow of fluid passing through a pipe is moved on cessation of flow and controls an electric circuit. A hollow casing 11 contains a vane 18 mounted for swivel movement on one arm 21 of a bell crank lever 22 pivoted at 24, the other arm 26 of the bell crank lever 22 being urged by a spring 28, adjustable by means of a screw 29, to press the vane 18 against its seat 17. A strip spring 30 insulated from the casing forms one terminal 31 (the casing 11 forming the other) of an electric circuit controlling an alarm and completes the circuit on contacting with a nut 23 on the vane 18. A spring controlled air release valve 36 is also provided on the casing.
