Abstract
Abstract 1,237,266. Coated products. BADISCHE ANILIN-& SODA-FABRIK A.G. 3 Oct., 1968 [4 Oct., 1967], No. 46908/68. Heading B2E. [Also in Divisions C2 and D1] Non-fibre-forming articles may be surface treated with a solution containing an antistatic agent of the formula: wherein Q denotes the radical -NR<SP>4</SP>R<SP>5</SP> or the radical [-NH-A<SP>2</SP>-NH-CO-NH-A<SP>1</SP> -<SP>+</SP>NR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>]X<SP>-</SP>, R<SP>1</SP> denotes an alkyl radical having up to four carbon atoms or a benzyl radical, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> denote alkyl radicals having up to four carbon atoms or, together with the nitrogen atom, a five-or six-membered heterocyclic ring, R<SP>4</SP> and R<SP>5</SP> denote hydrogen atoms or alkyl radicals having up to four carbon atoms, A<SP>1</SP> and A<SP>2</SP> denote linear or branched C 2-6 alkylene radicals and X- denotes the anion of an inorganic or organic acid. The agents may be applied in the form of aqueous solutions by dipping, spraying or wiping the surfaces to be protected with an impregnated cloth. Articles such as film, sheeting, gramophone records, lighting fixtures, refrigerators, radio cabinets and furniture veneered with plastics may be surface treated in this way. In specific examples 4 and 5 a polystyrene moulding and a surface coated with a synthetic resin lacquer based on polyacrylic esters are respectively treated with an aqueous solution comprising 3-trimethylaminopropylurea methosulphate.
