Abstract
Abstract 1,237,199. Thickened bleach solutions. COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO. 8 Nov., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967], No. 52987/68. Heading DIP. [Also in Division Cl] Aqueous bleach solutions are thickened by the addition thereto of a mixture of a negatively charged clay and a positively charged clay. Aqueous solutions of alkali metal hypochlorites, trichlorocyanuric acid, dichlorocyanuric acid and the sodium, potassium and ammonium salts thereof, chlorinated hydantoins and chlorinated trisodium phosphates may be thickened. The compositions may contain 0.25-10% by weight of each of the negatively and positively charged clays. The clay carrying a negative charge may be a hectorite or sodium aluminosilicate sol and the clay carrying a positive charge may be a colloidal alumina having acetate groups absorbed on the surface thereof, alumina-coated silica or chemically modified alumina.
