Abstract The present invention relates to an installation for regulating a water course flowing between two lateral walls, including at least one gate (4) which extends from one wall to the other and which pivots along an axis (9) located at the level of the bottom of the installation, this installation including venting devices (15) which allow the partial vacuum zone which is created downstream of the gate to be eliminated. Specific application to the regulation of the rate of flow of a river.
