Device for putting tarpaulins on and taking tarpaulins off vehicles.
Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a device enabling tarpaulins to be rapidly put on and taken off vehicles, especially the open-top cabs of military lorries in order that, when the top rails have been totally folded up and the windscreen folded down or removed, an armament system which can fire horizontally over 360 DEG and upwards up to 90 DEG can be installed. This device is characterised in that the base 11 of the windscreen 1 is assembled to the cab 2 of the vehicle by removable fixing members 17, 18 whilst the ridge 12 of the said windscreen is coupled to the articulated top rails 5, 6, 7 in order to form with the latter a kinematic assembly, which can be folded up like an accordion, in the direction of the rear of the cab 2, the said assembly being securely fastened to retractable uprights 8 in order to be removed with them, after folding up, into the cab. The device is more particularly intended for military vehicles.
