Abstract

Abstract Novel device of the responder type, connected to the telephone network, characterised: - on the one hand, in that it includes a responder and means for connecting the said responder to a microcomputer terminal; - on the other hand, in that the responder includes in combination: a. a central processing unit and its peripherals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7; b. a mass memory 24; c. a plurality of interfaces, including at least one of the following interfaces: line interface, a telephone peripheral interface, a printer interface, cassette interface, interface 9, 10, 11, 12; d. a supply system 13, - finally, in that the device includes two operating modes: a local mode for using a microcomputer terminal and a line mode for permitting the exchange and processing of data between a party and the said microcomputer.
