CUT-OFF CLOSURE WITH SCREWABLE CAP
Abstract
Abstract A plastic container (1), for example a tube, is closed hermetically by means of a closing membrane (5). A cap (3) which can be screwed on the tube head by means of a thread (12) serves for opening the container for the first time. The cap (3) has on the inside of its bottom (3) a hollow cylinder (13) which possesses towards its open side a cup point (14) closed on itself. The hollow cylinder (13) has an interior suitable for receiving a middle part (4) of the closing membrane and possessing smooth walls. The middle part (4) is so designed that its diameter widens upwards and exceeds the inside diameter of the hollow cylinder. When the cap is screwed on, the middle part (4) is deformed elastically in the radial direction by the hollow cylinder, whilst the cup point severs the membrane. The radial forces thereby acting on the hollow cylinder are expressed as a perceptible rotational resistance on the cap and hold the severed middle part firmly in it. This design affords safety against the loss of the cap before the first use and prevents an unintended opening of the closing membrane. The severed middle part is retained securely in the capsule.
