Abstract

Abstract The corrective spectacles for very young children are for correcting a squint in one eye. The frames are fitted with plain glass lenses, and these lenses are made opaque on either side of the bridge. The opaque segments are each bordered by a vertical line and the distance (E) between the lines is 32mm for children under one year old and 35mm for children older than one year. One of the vertical lines is positioned so as to lie tangentially to the normal eye and the other is positioned to lie tangentially to the iris in its corrected position.
