Centralised locking system for automobile doors - permits remote locking and unlocking without impeding manual lock operation
Abstract
Abstract The system permits centralised locking and unlocking of the doors of a vehicle by means of a switch placed within reach of the driver, or from another point. A number of controllers equal to the number of locks are used, and each controller includes a bi-directional electric motor which drives via a reduction gearbox an operating shaft. This acts upon the operating lever of the associated lock. The operating lever maybe moved between two positions, either by hand or under the influence of the controller, which respectively represent the locked and released positions of the lock. The operating shaft returns, after moving the lever, to a central position in which it does not affect manual operation of the lock.
