Abstract

Abstract The installation is used to control the steering of a tracked vehicle, obtained by superimposing additional speeds onto the output reduction units for the track drives. A torque converter is fitted to the gearbox driven by the engine and a slipping clutch is provided in front of the torque converter. The degree of clutch slip is automatically controlled by the steering mechanism of the vehicle. The engine is permitted to turn at full power, after having suppressed the direct drive on the torque converter, as necessary, by use of the accelerator.
