Abstract
Abstract A baling machine for paper, textiles, sawdust, plastics etc, has a vertical frame (7) enclosing an upright vessel (17) into which the material (18) is charged, and an overhead drive (6) forces a vertical ram (5) downwards to compress the charge. A horizontal ram (21) forming one side of the chamber enclosing the charge is then forced inwards, and at the same time a partition (9) forming the opposite side is lifted so that the compresses charge is forced into another chamber (13) with a bag (14) or container around it so that the charge can be transferred to the bag.
