Abstract A connecting element for joining two electrical conductors provided with a sealable housing and integrated electronic components (48) arranged on a circuit board (16) and on which contact elements (50,54) are provided. The housing has a reception area for a flat/ribbon cable which is in contact with the contact elements (54) on the contact element and fixed in place.
