displaceable to a lock position when the connector housings (21; 61; 101; 11) are
properly connected, thereby locking the connector housings (21; 61; 101; 11) so
as not be disengageable from each other and to an unlock position when the
connector housings (21; 61; 101; 11) are partly connected, a connection detecting member (55; 90; 130; 156) which is permitted to be
mountable or movable on the connector housing (21; 61; 101) when the elastic
lock portion (44; 66; 84; 108; 148; 188) is in its lock position while being
substantially prevented from being mounted or movable on the connector housing
(21; 61; 101) when the elastic lock portion (44; 66; 84; 108; 148; 188) is in its
unlock position, and a short releasing member (50; 95; 120; 155; 192) which comprises a short
releasing portion (52; 97; 122; 152; 155A) for releasing the shorted state of
terminal fittings (13) in the mating connector housing (11) by being mounted or
moved on the connector housing (21; 61; 101) properly connected with the
mating connector housing (11).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
26 words
A connector according to claim 1, wherein the short releasing member (50;
95; 120) is a separate member from the connection detecting member (55; 90;
130).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
51 words
A connector according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the
connection detecting member (55; 90; 130) and the short releasing member (50;
95; 120) are displaceable or movable along directions being arranged at an angle
different from 0° or 180°, preferably substantially normal with respect to each
other.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
46 words
A connector according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the
short releasing member (50; 95; 120) is displaceable or movable along a direction
being substantially parallel to a mating direction of the connector housing (21; 61;
101) and the mating connector housing (11).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
78 words
A connector according to one or more of the preceding claims, further
comprising: a biasing means (125) for biasing the short releasing member (120) in a
direction away from the connector housing (101), and/or a holding means (134) provided on the connection detecting member (130)
for holding the short releasing member (120) in a state mountable on the
connector housing (101) when the connection detecting member (130) is mounted
in a proper position on the connector housing (101).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
66 words
A connector according to claim 5, wherein: the biasing means (125) comprises a compression coil spring (125), and/or the connector housing (101) permits cramping terminals (110) provided with
blades (113) to be pressed thereinto or arranged therein, and wires (114) are brought or bringable into contact with the blades (113) to
establish an electrical connection by assembling a press cover (109) with the
connector housing (101).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
229 words
A connector, in particular according to one or more of the preceding claims,
comprising: a connector housing (21; 61; 101) connectable with a mating connector
housing (11), at least one terminal fitting (30; 70) insertable into the connector housing (21;
61; 101), a retainer (40; 80; 140; 180) displaceably mountable on the connector
housing(s) (21; 61; 101; 11) between a partial lock position where the insertion of
the at least one terminal fitting (30; 70) is permitted and a full lock position where
the at least one terminal fitting (30; 70) is held in its proper insertion position, and at least one lock means (44; 66; 84; 108; 148; 188) for locking the
connector housing (21; 61; 101) and the mating connector housing (21; 61; 101)
in their properly connected state, wherein: a displacement of the retainer (40; 80; 140; 180) from its partial lock position
to its full lock position is prevented when the at least one terminal fitting (30; 70)
is insufficiently inserted, the lock means (44; 66; 84; 108; 148; 188) is integrally or unitarily provided
on the retainer (40; 80; 140; 180), and locking by the lock means (44; 66; 84; 108; 148; 188) is permitted when the
retainer (40; 80; 140; 180) is in its full lock position while being impossible when
the retainer (40; 80; 140; 180) is in its partial lock position.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
55 words
A connector according to claim 7, wherein the connection of the connector
housing(s) (21; 61; 101; 11) is prevented by the lock means (44; 66; 84; 108;
148; 188) being struck against or interacting with the mating connector housing
(21; 61; 101) when the retainer (40; 80; 140; 180) is in its partial lock position.
