Abstract

Abstract An organic EL display apparatus comprising, for each pixel, an organic EL element having a light emitting layer including an organic composition between an anode and a cathode, a non-linear element made by an N-type FET for controlling light emission of said organic EL element, a drain of said N-type FET being connected to a cathode electrode of said organic EL element, a capacitor connected to a gate electrode of the non-linear element for holding a signal, and a non-linear element for writing data into the capacitor. Further, a color filter formed on a transparent substrate is arranged opposite to said organic EL element.
