Claim 2

Azo dyes according to claim 1, where M is an alkali metal atom and n, m, R and F are as defined in claim 1.

Claim 3

Azo dyes of formula (20) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and B is a group represented by where R 1 , R 2 are independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy each having from 1 to 4 C atoms, chloro, bromo, carboxy or sulfo; D 1 is phenyl or phenyl substituted once or twice by a substituent selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxy, chloro, bromo, carboxy and sulfo, or naphthyl or naphthyl substituted once or twice by sulfo; and p 1 is 0 or 1.

Claim 4

Azo dyes of formula (21) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; D 1 and B are as defined in claim 3; and R 3 , R 4 are independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy or acylamino each having up to 3 C atoms.

Claim 5

Azo dyes of formula (22) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; D 1 , B and p 1 are as defined in claim 3; and E is phenyl or phenyl substituted once or twice by a substituent selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxy, chloro, bromo, carboxy and sulfo, or naphthyl or naphthyl substituted once or twice by a substituent selected from the group consisting of sulfo, hydroxy and amino.

Claim 6

Azo dyes of formula (23) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and D 2 is phenyl or phenyl substituted once or twice by a substituent selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxy, chloro, bromo, carboxy and sulfo, or naphthyl or naphthyl substituted once or twice by sulfo; and p 2 is 0 or 1.

Claim 7

Azo dyes of formula (24) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and R 5 is hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 6 C atoms, substituted alkyl having from 2 to 6 C atoms, where the substituents are selected from the group consisting of carboxy, hydroxy and sulfo, or phenyl or phenyl substituted by a substituent selected from the group consisting of methyl, chloro, bromo and sulfo.

Claim 8

Azo dyes of formula (25) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and R 6 is methyl or carboxy; R 7 , R 8 are selected independently from hydrogen, chloro, bromo or methyl.

Claim 9

Azo dyes of formula (26) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and R 9 is hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy each having up to 3 C atoms; R 10 is alkyl having from 1 to 8 C atoms, or phenyl or phenyl substituted by one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of chloro, bromo, alkyl and alkoxy each having from 1 to 4 C atoms; and p 2 is 0 or 1.

Claim 10

Azo dyes of formula (27) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and R 11 is hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy each having up to 3 C atoms; R 12 is alkyl having from 1 to 8 C atoms, substituted alkyl having from 1 to 6 C atoms, where the substituents are selected from the group consisting of COOCH 3 , carboxy and halogen, or phenyl or phenyl substituted by one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of chloro, bromo, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylcarbonylamino or alkylsulfonyl each having from 1 to 4 C atoms, or pyridine; and p 3 is 0 or 1.

Claim 11

Azo dyes of formula (28) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and D 3 is phenyl or phenyl substituted once or twice by a substituent selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxy, chloro, bromo, carboxy and sulfo; R 13 , R 14 are independently selected from hydrogen, ureido, alkyl, alkoxy or acylamino each having up to 3 C atoms.

Claim 12

Azo dyes of formula (29) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and R 15 is hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy each having up to 3 C atoms; R 16 is hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 6 C atoms, substituted alkyl having from 2 to 6 C atoms, where the substituents are selected from the group consisting of COOCH 3 , COOCH 2 CH 3 , COCH 3 , carboxy, hydroxy and cyan, or phenyl or phenyl substituted by a substituent selected from the group consisting of methyl, chloro or bromo.

Claim 13

Azo dyes of formula (30) according to claim 1, where n, m, R and M are as defined in claim 1; and R 17 , R 18 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy each having up to 3 C atoms, p 4 is 1, 2 or 3 and the sulfo group is in position 1 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8, if p 4 is 1; or the sulfo groups are in positions 4 and 8 or 5 and 7 or 6 and 8 or 1 and 5, if p 4 is 2; or the sulfo groups are in positions 3 and 6 and 8 or 4 and 6 and 8, if p 4 is 3.

Claim 14

Azo dyes according to claim 1, where n, m have the same value from 2 to 4; R is hydrogen; M is as defined in claim 2; and F is as set forth in anyone of claims 3 to 13.

Claim 15

Inks for ink jet printing comprising a dye or a mixture of dyes as described in anyone of claims 1 to 14.

Claim 16

Inks for ink jet printing which contain in addition to a dye or a mixture of dyes as described in anyone of claims 1 to 14 one or more other dyes.
