Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 24
Claim 1
Independent Claim 71 words
A panel (10) characterised by having two distinct panel portions (12,14) each comprising a skin (18) and integrally moulded supporting webs (20) extending generally perpendicularly to the skin (18) from a first of two surfaces thereof to define a bonding surface spaced from said first surface of the skin (18) by the extent of the webs (20), the panel portions (12,14) being bonded at the bonding surface of each portion (12,14).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 26 words
A panel according to Claim 1 characterised in that each web (20) is aligned with a web (20) on the other of the panel portions (12,14).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 21 words
A panel according to Claim 1 or Claim 2 characterised in that each web panel portion (12,14) further includes gussets (24).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
A panel according to Claim 3 characterised in that the gussets (24) are about half as tall as each web (20) and one third as long as each web (20).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
A panel according to Claim 3 or Claim 4 characterised in that the gussets (24) include a hypotenuse extending from the web (20) to said first surface of the skin (18).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 27 words
A panel according to any one of Claims 3 to 6 characterised in that the gussets (24) are located in a central location along each web (20).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 28 words
A panel according to any one of the preceding Claims characterised in that each web (20) forms a geometric pattern on said first surface of the skin (18).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
A panel according to Claim 7 characterised in that the geometric pattern is a repeating parallelogram shape.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 14 words
A panel according to Claim 8 characterised in that the parallelogram shape is rectangular.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 38 words
A panel according to any one of the preceding Claims characterised in that each web (20) includes at least one boss (22) moulded therein for receiving a projection from or through the other of the panel portions (12,14).
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 32 words
A panel according to any one of the preceding Claims characterised in that the panel portions (12,14) are bonded together by hot plate bonding or by adhesive bonding or by friction welding.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 28 words
A panel according to Claim 7 as dependent on Claim 3 characterised in that each gusset (24) extends towards a centre area of each web defined geometric pattern.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 29 words
A panel according to any one of the preceding Claims characterised in that each panel portion (12,14) is comprised of hot plate weldable, or adhesive, or friction weldable material.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 31 words
A panel according to any one of the preceding Claims characterised in that each panel portion (12,14) is composed of polyethylene or polypropylene or acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or polycarbonate or acrylic or metal.
Claim 15
Independent Claim 126 words
A method of making a panel (10), preferably a plastics panel, comprised of two moulded panel portions (12,14) where each panel portion (12,14) has a skin (18) and integrally moulded webs (20) extending generally perpendicularly outward from one surface of the skin (18) characterised by the steps comprising:- adding a mouldable compound to a first mould to form a first panel portion (12); adding a mouldable compound to a second mould to form a second panel portion (14); forming the first and second panel portions (12,14) in the first and second moulds respectively; removing the first and second panel portions (12,14) from the respective moulds and bonding the panel portions (12,14) together along the webs (20) of each panel portion (12,14) to form the panel (10).
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to Claim 15 characterised in that the moulding steps are carried out in a tandem-moulding process or a stack-moulding process.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 24 words
A method according to Claim 16 characterised in that the process produces panel portions (12,14) one half cycle different in age before being bonded.
Claim 18
Independent Claim 29 words
A method according to any one of Claims 15 to 17 characterised in that the webs (20) form a geometric pattern on said one surface of the skin (18).
Claim 19
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to Claim 18 characterised in that the geometric pattern is parallelogram shaped.
Claim 20
Independent Claim 34 words
A method according to any one of Claims 15 to 19 characterised in that the webs (20) further include gussets (24) extending from said one surface of the skin (18) to the webs (20).
Claim 21
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to Claim 15 characterised in that the moulding steps comprise sequential moulding of each of the two panel portions (12,14).
Claim 22
Independent Claim 23 words
A method according to any one of Claims 15 to 21 characterised in that each mouldable compound is a hot plate weldable material.
Claim 23
Independent Claim 32 words
A method according to any one of Claims 15 to 22 characterised in that each panel portion (12,14) is composed of polyethylene or polypropylene or acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or polycarbonate or acrylic or metal.
Claim 24
Independent Claim 16 words
A method according to any one of Claims 15 to 23 characterised by further including gas-assist.
