Abstract

Abstract In an apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation having a straightening passage, capable of being prevented adhesion of bubbles to the straightening passage, and capable of being prevented a sample supplying error generated caused by a closed sample supplying portion on account of air locking, there is provided a bubble-removing passage (5) for removing the bubbles within fluids at upper stream position of a straightening mesh (36) within a classifying bath (4) for classifying objects based on dropping position caused by a final sinking velocity of said objects falling within fluids after throwing said objects into flowing fluids, the bubble-removing passage (5) which comprises a filter (15) and a filter holder (25) secured within the classifying bath through a protuberance.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 56 words
An apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation which has a classifying bath for classifying objects to be classified based on dropping position caused by a final sinking velocity of said objects falling within fluid after throwing said objects into flowing fluid comprising: a bubble-removing passage for removing bubbles within said fluid provided within said classifying bath.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 22 words
An apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation according to claim 1, wherein said bubble-removing passage comprises a filter and a filter holder.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 65 words
An apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation according to claim 2, wherein a quality of material for said filter is of a material made of fiberglass, tetrafluoroethylene, cellulose acetate, nitrile cellulose, urethane and so forth which are capable of being performed a high pressure sterilization by autoclaving or the like, and/or sterilization is capable of performing by an ultraviolet photoemission or a use of chemicals.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 115 words
An apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation according to claim 1 or 2 wherein said filter holder is composed of a cylindrical member which comes into contact with a inner wall of said classifying bath made of sterilizable synthetic resin as well as metal and D-shaped side boards made of sterilizable synthetic resin as well as metal, being formed in such a way that said D-shaped side boards are connected to a lower part and a upper part of said cylindrical members respectively, wherein said filter is arranged between both said side boards, wherein a supporting net is arranged at the lower part of said filter, and is fixed to said side boards by screws.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 65 words
An apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation according to claim 1 or 2 wherein there is provided a ring shaped protuberance for the inner wall of said classifying bath, an O-ring and a seal-tape and so forth are provided between a side face of the upper stream position of said protuberance and a face perpendicular to the stream of the fluid of said filter holder.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 40 words
An apparatus for classifying objects by sedimentation according to claim 4 wherein a flange portion is formed by a part of said side board of said filter holder and a plurality of locking holes are pierced at said flange portions.
